    Network Security Built for
    a Higher-Risk Landscape

    Rising Incidents, Hidden Entry Points

Australian businesses face a higher volume of network security incidents than ever, with most breaches happening at the network layer.

    Not Always Obvious

Entry points are not always obvious: an unpatched device, a misconfigured remote access policy, or a cloud application with inadequate access control.

    Designed, Deployed, Managed

As a Fortinet-certified partner, our Melbourne NOC configures, monitors, and maintains your security so defences update as the threat landscape shifts.

    What's included

    Security Products

    Fortinet SD-WAN

Replace your MPLS links with a smarter, more flexible WAN. Fortinet SD-WAN gives you application-aware routing, built-in security, and a single management pane across all sites, so your network and your security policy travel together. Particularly well suited to multi-site businesses moving workloads to the cloud.

    Fortinet SASE

SASE, Secure Access Service Edge, brings your network and security together in a cloud-delivered platform. Staff get consistent security policy whether they connect from the office, home, or a client site, without traffic being backhauled through head office. Ideal for businesses with remote teams or cloud-heavy workloads who need security to follow the user, not the building.

    Fortinet NAC

Control exactly who and what connects to your network. FortiNAC discovers every device automatically, enforces your access policy at the device level, and quarantines anything that does not meet your compliance requirements before it becomes a problem. Guest devices, IoT endpoints, and non-compliant laptops are segmented from the rest of your network without manual intervention.

    Fortinet EDR and MDR

Go beyond antivirus. FortiEDR detects threats on endpoints using behavioural analysis, not just known signatures, and responds automatically in real time. Pair it with the eComms managed detection service and you have a trained team watching your endpoint alerts around the clock, triaging incidents, and escalating when action is required.

    Managed Firewall SOC

A 24/7 security operations centre monitoring your firewall and network traffic from the eComms Melbourne NOC. Our team identifies anomalies, investigates alerts, and escalates genuine threats with a clear response recommendation, so you do not need to build or staff that capability in-house.

     Why Fortinet and eComms

    Why Fortinet and Why eComms

    Who This Is For

    Multi-site businesses

Multi-site businesses, including retail chains, hospitality groups, and professional services firms with three or more locations, need consistent security policy across every site. Without a single platform managing all locations, each site becomes a separate risk. Fortinet SD-WAN and SASE let eComms enforce the same policy at every location and manage it from one console in Melbourne.

    Cloud-First Businesses

Cloud-first businesses, including SaaS companies, financial services firms, and healthcare providers with cloud workloads, face a challenge that traditional perimeter firewalls were not designed to solve. Remote staff and cloud applications generate traffic that does not route through a central office, so perimeter-based security misses it entirely. Fortinet SASE addresses this by enforcing security policy at the cloud edge, regardless of where your staff connect from or which application they are using.

    Regulated Industries

Regulated industries, including government agencies, financial advisers, and healthcare providers, have specific compliance obligations covering network access control, audit logging, and incident response documentation. FortiNAC enforces device-level access policy and generates the evidence compliance frameworks require. eComms manages the ongoing configuration to keep those controls current as your environment changes.

Thousands of Businesses Across Australia Trust eComms to Keep Them Connected

“We needed a partner who understood both the network architecture and the compliance requirements. eComms brought both in one team. The Fortinet deployment covered all eight of our locations and the audit reporting was exactly what our compliance team needed.”

    Choose eComms

Answers to common questions about our managed phone systems, connectivity solutions, carrier network, and ongoing support services.

What is the difference between a firewall and SD-WAN?

A firewall inspects network traffic and allows or blocks it based on the security rules you define. SD-WAN routes traffic intelligently across multiple internet connections, including fibre, broadband, and 4G, based on application priority and the real-time quality of each link. Fortinet combines both in the same platform, so your WAN routing decisions and your security policies are enforced by a single system with no gap between them. Most businesses deploying Fortinet SD-WAN with eComms are replacing older MPLS arrangements and adding a security layer at the same time. See Fortinet SD-WAN: https://www.ecomms.com.au/data/network-security/fortinet/sd-wan/ and firewall options: https://www.ecomms.com.au/data/enterprise-network/fortinet/firewall/

SASE, or Secure Access Service Edge, merges network connectivity and security into a cloud-delivered service. Rather than routing all traffic back through a central office firewall for inspection, SASE applies security policy at the point where the user connects, whether that is at home, in a branch, or on a client site. Businesses with remote or hybrid teams and heavy cloud application use are the strongest fit. If your staff spend most of their working day in cloud-hosted platforms and connect from different locations, SASE removes the performance penalty and security gaps that come with traditional perimeter approaches. See Fortinet SASE: https://www.ecomms.com.au/data/network-security/fortinet/sase/

A Security Operations Centre, or SOC, is a team that monitors your firewall and network traffic continuously, identifies suspicious activity, triages alerts, and takes action or escalates when a genuine threat is detected. Most businesses do not have the internal staff, tooling, or shift-based coverage to run this capability in-house. The eComms managed SOC provides that coverage from our Melbourne NOC. Incidents are investigated by engineers who know your environment and your Fortinet configuration, not generic analysts working from a shared alert queue. You get enterprise-level security monitoring without the overhead of hiring and maintaining a security team. See managed firewall SOC: https://www.ecomms.com.au/data/network-security/fortinet/firewall-soc/

Fortinet has solutions across the enterprise and SMB range, including smaller FortiGate appliances suited to offices of under 20 staff. For businesses at the smaller end, however, the total cost and configuration complexity of Fortinet may exceed what the environment requires. eComms partners with both Fortinet for enterprise and mid-market clients and Ubiquiti for smaller businesses, and recommends based on your size, what you need to protect, and your budget. If simplicity and cost are the priority, Ubiquiti UniFi is often the better fit and eComms manages it with the same care. See Ubiquiti SMB networks: https://www.ecomms.com.au/data/smb-network/

eComms is a managed service provider, not a product reseller. We design the security architecture for your specific environment, procure and deploy the hardware and software, configure everything to your requirements, and then manage it on an ongoing basis from our Melbourne NOC. That includes firmware patching, policy updates, continuous monitoring, alert triage, and incident response. If you already have Fortinet equipment in place from another provider or a previous deployment, we can take over the management of that existing environment. See managed network services: https://www.ecomms.com.au/data/managed-services/

A free network security assessment takes about an hour and gives you a clear picture of where your current environment has gaps. Our Melbourne team runs the assessment, produces a written summary of findings, and outlines the options available. There is no obligation to proceed. The assessment is a practical starting point regardless of whether you are evaluating Fortinet for the first time or looking to improve the management of a system that is already in place.
